Provides free telecommunications equipment to the deaf, hard of hearing, speech disabled and deaf/blind in Illinois. Free amplified telephones are included in this program. Basic requirements:
- Legal resident of Illinois
- Working telephone service in your residence (must provide copy of phone bill)
- Application signed by your Doctor or approved certifier that the applicant is deaf, hard of hearing, speech disabled or deaf/blind and unable to use a standard telephone
ITAC is a free program required and governed by Illinois law. There are no age or income requirements. Application packets and more information can be obtained by contacting the appropriate office listed above.
